Custodian
Part-time (20 hrs/week)
Hours 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Job Summary
The Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned buildings clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established district policies and standards. A custodial worker must maintain assigned buildings in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the education program.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, experience in performing custodial and/or maintenance functions.
- Good mechanical aptitude, heating & ventilation experience
- strong work ethic, good initiative, interpersonal skills and strong independent judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to use technology effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform custodial duties both interior and exterior of building by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation, orderliness, and safety.
- Notify supervisors concerning major and minor repairs.
- Accept instructions from the head custodian/supervisor verbally or in writing.
- Provide services as necessary to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities.
- Assist visiting members of the public who are utilizing the facilities.
- Work on call as needed at any time for emergency repairs, equipment monitoring, overtime, or specific custodial needs falling outside of normal working hours inclusive of weekends.
